/ABOUT

Ze Fuss is a passion project born out of the genuine love we’ve found for electronic music over our years spent involved in the bass community. We’re a collective of artists with the goal of contributing positively to the EDM scene by hosting immersive pop-up music and art gatherings while specifically highlighting local queer talent from all across the city. We believe that as a queer-centric collective, we have a special opportunity to reinvigorate the scene by providing a platform for a multitude of talent that goes beyond just the music. We strive to make each show a unique experience, and you can expect a diverse assortment of art that ranges from sound engineers, visual artists, flow performers, fire spinners, drag queens, live painters, hand craftsmen, and much more.

This is not your granddaddy's bass and arts collective! We’re bringing out all the stops to curate audio-visual experiences that showcase theatrics not often found in your everyday show. If you don’t leave feeling like you just microdosed a festival, then we haven’t done our job.

Ze Fuss events are not just about elevating artists, but art lovers as well. We’re here to entertain, excite, inspire, and revitalize the show-going experience. By fostering an environment where all attendees not only feel safe, but also a sense of belonging, participation in these events directly supports the queer community. Help us keep art and community alive here in the Mile High City at our next pop-up!

OUR INITIATIVES

REINVORGORATE

What is it to be human if not to play, create, collaborate, and love yourself loudly as you love others? We’re here to aid in the reawakening of your inner child. Let’s be curious together, let’s move our bodies, be weird, and shrug off the societal conditioning and pressures. We’re shedding the fear of judgment to make room for our truest selves.

INSPIRE

Our aim is to cultivate environments of artistic wonder where harmony flows seamlessly from one medium to the next. We invite you to break free from the ordinary and immerse in your own creative essence. Draw inspiration from who you are and those around you to authentically express your truest self through any and all forms of art.

SUPPORT

We wish to give a spotlight where a spotlight is owed- to artists of all mediums. When you go to any show or concert of any genre, in any city, it is no question that the musician is always the main (if not only) focus. And while that might make sense for other genres, there is SO much more to bass shows that adds to what makes the scene what it is, and subsequently, why we love it. That being said, we are here to uplift those necessary contributors with a special spotlight in each of our events. We believe that highlighting our fire performers, vendors, painters, flow artists, and digital artists alongside the producers is imperative to achieving our goal of inclusion and unity.

BRIDGE THE GAP

Since its conception, electronic music has been deeply rooted in queer culture. We’ve noticed that many spaces in the bass scene have become overtly heteronormative, despite its foundations provided by queer people of color. It would be a disservice to both the music and the cultivation of its culture not to honor their history, which is why we’re here to shake things up. Ze Fuss aims to bring in queer-led performance art to the bass scene in our efforts to bridge the gap between the two communities. We’re ditching the concept of queer “tolerance” in the scene and embracing its celebration outright.

ENCOURAGE

Here at Ze Fuss, we value radical self expression. We feel as though disassociation is a plague to the scene that robs us of our ability to connect more deeply with ourselves and to one another. By giving platforms to a wide variety of artists from various mediums, we hope to combat the need to blend in with the crowd. Dance how you wish to dance. Move how you wish to move. Do not let your light be dimmed by expectations of how you are “supposed” to live your life.

EMPOWER

Queerness is already very much alive in the bass scene. There are queer DJs, producers, fire performers, painters, flow artists, and more that are intrinsic to what you think of when you think of electronic music culture. These roles allow people to travel, share their art, express themselves, and make a career out of it, but like any endeavor, there are inherent associated hardships and hurdles. We see Ze Fuss as a vessel which queer artists can use to help catalyze their success in the scene. Every project we put on is curated in a way that creates a safe and supportive space for queer artists to express, inspire, and create.
